Red Wing Figurines

Some early 1900 Red Wing figurines can be found. The older ones are pictured in Clay Giants and Potters and Their Wares. Some of these early pieces are one of a kind, probably produced as lunch hour pieces for personal use or gifts.

One of the earliest mass produced animal figurines was the elephant planter (see p 166 Teft) listed in 1931 in four sizes and three glazes. Probably the most sought after animal collectible made by Red Wing is this planter with the nokomis glaze(see p 22 Reiss).
