Clay Product Condition Assessment Guidelines - Example "Chemically Treated"

Definition
An item is "Chemically Treated" if it has been immersed / exposed to harsh chemicals (such as bleach or peroxide) in order to hide or remove Stains.

Any clay product that has been chemically treated is considered to be damaged and must be disclosed!

Disclosure

	Type and ratio to water of chemical used
	Time of exposure
	Method used to treat (soaked in warm water for 3 hours after treatment)

Assessment
Nose test; growing fuzz; glaze discoloration; crazing without staining.
