Comments: Ruthie and I collected Red Wing when we lived in Minnesota. We moved to NC in 1982. At one time we had about 1100 pieces of stoneware - today 63. I designed and produced the first of the annual Red Wing Collector's Society pieces; a hand turned brown jug. To keep it authentic, I researched the land records and found the original clay pits, went and dug the clay by hand, and had a potter, living in Red Wing, make the jugs. If you are fortunate enough to have one of these jugs - be assured that you have a real piece of Red Wing stoneware.

We don't collect stoneware today, but I follow the eBay Red Wing auctions with interest. E-mail from Red Wing collectors is welcomed.
